Marieme Badiane, a French professional basketball player, is now a free agent and former Minnesota Lynx WNBA player. She also competes for the French national team, where became Olympics silver medalist at Paris 2024 Games. She also won the EuroLeague and the Europe SuperCup in 2024, as well as the Turkish Cup, Turkish Presidential Cup, and Basketball Super League in the 2023/2024 season.
Marieme Badiane began her career at Centre Federal, where she spent three years before signing her first professional deal with Roche Vendee in Ligue 2. She spent for a year before moving on to Champagne Basket Reims, another Ligue 2 team. Despite being courted by Belgian and LFB clubs during the summer, she elected to stay at Champagne Basket Reims for another season to finish her biology degree before pursuing a career solely in sports.
After a strong season in Champagne Basket Reims, where she averaged 12.1 points and 8.1 rebounds, Marieme Badiane signed with Mondeville of the LFB in April 2015. At the end of the 2016-2017 season, she committed to a three-year deal with ASVEL, a club recently taken over by Tony Parker. In November 2019, she renewed her contract with ASVEL for the 2020-2023 seasons, but she sat out the 2020-2021 season because of maternity leave.
She made a successful return in 2022-2023 with BLMA and continued into the next season, putting up 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in nine league games. She also averaged 14.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in the EuroCup Women that year.
In February 2024, Marieme Badiane joined Fenerbahçe, a top Turkish team run by Valérie Garnier, to strengthen their EuroLeague Women squad. She helped the team win the 2023-24 EuroLeague title.
On February 1, 2025, Marieme Badiane signed with the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA. By June 4, she was waived after playing in just three of their first eight games.
