Cameron Williams

Cameron Williams is American basketball player of Miami Hurricanes, competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Cameron Williams was born on November 15, 2001, Phoenix, Arizona, United States. She is a daughter of Aaron and Heather Williams, with her father playing basketball at the Xavier and the NBA. She started in basketball as a child in School of Kinesiology and showed great talent and skills.

Cameron Williams had a distinguished high school basketball career, highlighted by her victory in the 2019 City Championship, which earned her MVP recognition and a nomination for the McDonald’s All-America award. Throughout her time in high school, she achieved personal bests of 32 points, 17 rebounds, and nine blocks while competing for the Mac Irvin Fire in the AAU circuit.

Following her high school success, she enrolled at the University of Miami, where she joined the Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team. In her freshman year, Williams participated in 12 games as a reserve, averaging 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in 4.2 minutes per game. She recorded her first career points on November 27 against Oakland, achieving a personal best of nine points along with seven rebounds.

Demonstrating her talent, Williams received the academic All-Big Ten honor during her sophomore year with the Miami Hurricanes. She played in 30 games off the bench, averaging 2.7 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.7 minutes per game, and reached a career-high of 10 points in a game against Wisconsin.

Cameron Williams demonstrated significant improvement in her performance over the subsequent two seasons, earning recognition as an academic All-Big Ten and CSC Academic All-District during her junior year. She participated in all 33 games, achieving double-digit scoring on four occasions. In the 2022/2023 season, she averaged 6.4 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game over 17.7 minutes of play, while maintaining an impressive shooting percentage of 56.8. Notably, she achieved her first career double-double, setting personal bests with 18 points and 10 rebounds against No. 3 Ohio State on December 31.

In her senior season (2023/2024) with the Miami Hurricanes, Cameron Williams received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award from Michigan. She played in all 34 games, starting in 16, and scored in double figures on 12 occasions, averaging 7.5 points per game with a shooting percentage of 54.8, alongside 4.6 rebounds per game. During this season, she recorded a career-high of 23 points on 10-for-14 shooting against Rutgers on February 10 and achieved her third career double-double (second of the season) with 16 points and 10 rebounds against Wisconsin on January 13.
