DiJonai Carrington is a professional basketball player from the United States, currently representing the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. She began her collegiate basketball career at Stanford University before transferring to Baylor, ultimately being selected by the Sun in the 2021 WNBA Draft.

Born on January 8, 1998, in San Diego, California, Carrington attended Horizon Christian Academy, where she achieved remarkable success. She accumulated over 2,000 points throughout her high school career, averaging 18.8 points, 13.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Her exceptional performance earned her recognition as a McDonald’s All-American and a participant in the Jordan Brand Classic. Following her impressive high school tenure, she chose to continue her basketball journey at Stanford.

During her four years at Stanford, Carrington contributed significantly to the team’s success, aiding the Cardinal in securing two Pac-12 tournament championships in 2017 and 2019. In 2019, she received accolades as a member of the All Pac-12 Team, recognized by both Coaches and Media. Additionally, she was honored on the Academic Honor Roll in 2020 and received Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in both 2018 and 2019.

After her tenure at Stanford, DiJonai Carrington transferred to Baylor University to join the Lady Bears. During her single season with the team, she recorded an average of 14.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Her performance earned her the titles of Big-12 Newcomer of the Year and Sixth Person of the Year.

In the 2021 WNBA draft, Carrington was selected as the 20th overall pick by the Connecticut Sun. She participated in the Sun’s training camp and secured one of the 11 available roster positions. On September 25, 2024, the WNBA recognized Carrington as the Most Improved Player for that year. Subsequently, on September 29, 2024, she was named to the 2024 All-Defensive First Team.

On February 2, 2025, DiJonai Carrington was traded to the Dallas Wings. The initial report indicated that the trade involved Carrington, the 12th pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, and the rights to swap the Sun’s 2026 second-round pick in exchange for Jacy Sheldon and the 8th overall pick in the 2025 draft. However, this transaction was officially part of a more extensive four-team trade.
